Global Entry and TSA Precheck might be my most favorite travel perk ever.  Being able to bypass the regular security line at airports in favor on the shorter TSA PreCheck lines along with not having to remove my shoes and belt during screenings is a perk I can’t live without.  But it comes with a cost – until now.

When you apply for Global Entry orTSA PreCheck directly at the US Customs & Border Control website there is a $100 application fee ($85 for TSA Precheck) that needs to be paid.  A few years ago a lot of the higher end credit cards such as the American Express Platinum card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve offered to reimburse you the $100 fee if you applied as one of its perks.  It was great and exactly how I got my Global Entry fee paid but it wasn’t exactly free considering these higher end credit cards usually carry a $450 or even $550 annual fee.

My sister, who is trying to get Global Entry for her kids, alerted me to Capital One Venture Rewards card which also offers to reimburse your $100 application fee but has NO ANNUAL FEE the first year.  It also currently has a 50,000 point welcome offer/bonus if you spend $3000 in the first 3 months which are worth $500 in travel.

Now you have no excuses to be waiting in the long airport security lines.  Apply today.
