2017 turned out to be another record year for me in terms of both number of flights (30) and miles travel (55,196).  Of the 30 flights, 21 were domestic and 9 were international.

My longest flight was from Abu Dhabi to Washington at 7083 miles – it was also the most luxurious in Etihad first class.  I flew of Southwest the most – 12 flights.  Both Baltimore-Washington (BWI) and Dulles (IAD) were tied for the most flights (8) with Reagan National not far behind with six.

The year started with a bang with an amazing trip to the Maldives to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary in January.  We were able to snag business class seats on Qatar for the flight over and first class seats on Etihad for the return trip.  The Park Hyatt Maldives has unbelievable.

February and March saw two trips to Las Vegas – one for the Superbowl and the second for the Nascar race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

In April we headed to Paris on a hotel mistake rate – 6 nights at the Hyatt Regency with lounge access for less than $150 + 18,000 points!  We flew over to Paris in business class on United using ANA miles.

While May saw no travel, we traveled to Florida in June for an extended family cruise on Royal Caribbean’s largest ship – Harmony of the Seas.  After the cruise we drove to Orlando to spend a few days at Disney World’s water parks and finally got use Wyndham points that have been sitting in my account forever.

In late July, we were also able to do a long weekend trip to the new Grand Hyatt BahaMar in Nassau for my birthday.  Can’t wait to go back – pure paradise.

We also sprinkled in a few summer weekends at Dewey Beach, Delaware – my favorite Hyatt redemption.

Summer ended with a trip to San Francisco over Labor Day weekend.  We tacked on free United first class flights from our April trip to Paris.  And also used four free nights at The Fairmont that we earned with the Chase Fairmont credit card before it was discontinued in January.

September, October, and November brought two more trips to Las Vegas along with a business trip to Green Bay Wisconsin.  Touring Lambeau Field and watching a Packers game was a pretty neat experience.  I had my fair share of cheese curds with just about every meal.

And we ended the year with a quick trip to see family in Orlando.

I am truly blessed to have been able to travel to so many places this year.  And here’s to an even more amazing 2018.
